Museum Midwife

The Museum Midwife (AKA Elinor Clarke) attended the British Journal of Midwifery Conference on 13th February 2019: RCM Education Conference in Bath on 11th June2019. The Museum Midwife also attended the RCM Annual Conference in October 2019

The Museum Midwife aims to celebrate midwifery using a variety of artefacts and materials to celebrate midwives and midwifery. The Midwifery Museum will have permanent collections (History of the midwifery profession: Midwifery Textbooks: Midwifery professional roles) and contemporary collections (topical curations  for example Maternity Safety Champions: Professional Midwifery Advocacy)

Grand Opening of the Museum to Midwives

The ambition was to open a permanent exhibition (public) in 2021 to coincide with Coventry City of Culture. Unfortunately it was not possible to secure a permanent site in Coventry as intended.

COVID 19 global pandemic has meant that the midwifery museum must remain online only for the foreseeable future.

However the museum is happy to 'Pop Up' exhibitions in conjunction with other Coventry City of Culture Events .
